Principal horn Lauren Winter makes her first solo appearance with the The Portland Symphony Orchestra in a concert celebrating the talent of the orchestra on 11/10. Principal players of the orchestra shine in Ginastera’s Variaciones concertantes, then Lauren Winter takes center stage for Strauss’ showpiece for the horn with soaring melodies. The program concludes with Mendelssohn’s joyful and exuberant “Italian” Symphony, a challenging showpiece where the musicians shine together.

It was a bit of a dreary and blustery day but the view from the Million Dollar View Scenic Byway pullout in Weston was still spectacular! This route connects Aroostook County to the Downeast region including incredible scenery of the Grand Lakes Region.

An annual tradition for many New England families, more than 780,000 visitors have experienced the magic of Maine's premier light show. In addition to two of our popular Trolls, you'll find an enchanting forest with mushrooms and shooting stars.

Be advised that Gardens Aglow can be a crowded event. Please note that parking is limited; consider carpooling with family and friends.

Gardens Aglow will be held from November 16 through December 31 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, with some select dates.

Experience Mark Miller and Friends at the Boreal Theater in Millinocket on Sunday 11/10! Mark “Guitar” Miller is considered by many to be one of the best bluesmen in the country. We’ll be honored to host him at the Boreal Theater Music Cafe. $10.00 admission to support the arts! Born in the northern Maine town of Houlton and raised in East Millinocket, Maine, Mark Miller has been playing guitar since he was six years old. For more than 45 years, he has made his living by playing guitar. In the early days, he played with his brothers on the porch. In high school, he had a band playing in the top 40. Later, he played with several prominent bands as a “hired gun,” did studio work for numerous CDs, and then returned to Maine, where he has reigned over the music scene ever since.

Congratulations to Spring Break Maple & Honey in Smyrna on their international award for the best maple 🍁 candy!

We are proud to announce that at the North American Maple Syrup Council (NAMSC), annual event we were awarded the best maple candy internationally! This is our second international award with the first one in 2013.

The Maine Maple Producers Association hosted this four day conference in Portland. In those four days, there were workshops, meetings, tours, banquets and contests.

Please note that this coming Wednesday, November 6th, our facilities and trails will close for the season.

We will re-open our trails for XC Skiing and Snowshoeing once we have received enough snow to recreate.
