Italy has recently further relaxed rules on Americans and wishing to travel to their Country. Here’s a recap of the most recent updates and requirements in place to visit Italy for leisure purposes.
Starting from July 1 st : The digital Green Certificate will officially be launched in Italy as in all countries within the European Union. This new protocol will allow free travel within the EU, the US, Canada and Japan and will automatically lift the 10 days mandatory self-isolation previously in place upon arrival in/departure from Italy;
Entry from the USA into Italy can therefore take place by presenting, upon embarking, oneof the three envisaged certificates to the carrier:
a) Full vaccination against Covid-19, including the completion (at least 14 days) of the prescribed cycle of one of the vaccinations recognized by the EMA (Those vaccinated in the U.S.A. can prove this via the "white card" bearing a CDC logo);
b) Negative rapid antigenic or molecular PCR test carried out within 48 hours of departure (Children under 6 years of age are exempt from the pre-departure swab test);
c) Recovery from the infection.
Visitors are still required to fill in the Digital Passenger Locator Form before entering Italy;
Starting June 29 th, mask wearing outdoor will no more be mandatory;
Since late May, restaurants, museums and monuments, shops and all activities reopened to the public, in compliance to the requirements that aimed to guarantee social distance and safe interaction between people and starting June 21 st almost all of the Italian regions have been declared at low-of Covid-19 transmission and night curfew has been lifted.
