This marker is located in Jamaica Beach, at 16721 Jolly Roger Road. The full marker text is below ⬇️

“In this area is one of several known Karankawa campsites or burial grounds. Now extinct, the nomadic Indians lived along the Texas coast, depending on the Gulf for survival. In 1528 they aided Spanish explorer Cabeza de Vaca, but resisted all intruders from the time of the French expedition of La Salle in 1685. The tribe later declined because of disease and warfare with pirates and Anglo-American settlers. Known for tall tribesmen and alleged practices of ceremonial cannibalism, they had virtually disappeared from Texas by the 1840’s. This campsite was discovered in 1962.”

The marker was erected in 1966 by the Texas Historical Commission.

Galveston, Texas

Built in 1838 for a prominent Galveston landholder, the Menard House is one of the oldest existing buildings on the island and purportedly one of the most haunted.
Over the years, there have been many ghostly reports of groups of children playing in the garden, where several storm victims had been buried.
Many also say that they have seen Menard’s daughter’s ghost crying by the grand staircase, mourning the lover who jilted her.Some people who have slept there have said they felt somebody watching them in their sleep or also heard laughter.

Ghost picture taken in Seguine, TX during a ghost hunt. I like this picture because there is a reflective surface and the ghost like image is directly above it and obviously behind it. It’s an interesting photograph.

Last night’s Guided Ghost Tour was unbelievable! While in the Traveling Salesmen’s lobby upstairs, we all got to witness an amazing paranormal experience. As I began sharing the story of our spirit Willie to my guests, a cool breeze entered the room. The room then filled with a gentle floral fragrance. This is the scent that is usually present when our spirit “Lil Bit” comes forward. All of a sudden a bright white mist quickly floated towards one of our guests and STOPPED right in front of her! She was stunned! I noticed she was holding her cellphone in her hand and it was in selfie mode. I quickly said “take a picture, take a picture!” This is what she captured!! Every one of our guests were in awe.

Check out this cool Galveston paranormal experience.

Paranormal? Do you see the face?
While on the beach one evening taking photos of a storm coming into Galveston I photographed something strange. When photographing a storm you need to take multiple frames in order to get lightning or capture the cool light show in the clouds. While pointing my camera up and taking 9 pictures (2 pictures per second) I caught this weird face in one of my frames. No one was behind me or in the frame and if they were they would of needed to be 9 or 10 feet off the ground since I was shooting up. Do you see the face? Many tourist and locals have experienced strange happenings on Galveston's seawall.

Tip #5: Under Texas law, you must give the landlord a forwarding address in order to receive your returned security deposit. The landlord must return your deposit — less any amount deducted for damages — within 30 days. If the landlord withholds part or all of your deposit, they must give you an itemized list of deductions with a description of the damages.

If they fail to return your security deposit, send you an itemized list of deductions and description of damages then you are entitled to 3x your deposit + legal fees + $100.

Call me today if you want to pursue a bad landlord that kept your security deposit without cause.
