Join Rice's Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies for the short, non-credit course, “Travelers on the Silk Roads” with Dr. Lisa Balabanlilar this spring! This course is open to the public and delivered in person. This class is offered in conjunction with a Rice University Office of Alumni Relations Traveling Owls trip: Uzbekistan and Istanbul: Jewels of the Silk Road, April 26–May 11, 2025, led by Dr. Balabanlilar. The trip will focus on the Silk Road heritage of the region, as well as Central Asia’s sustained political and cultural importance as the center of empire, from the time of Genghis Khan and Tamerlane.
