Ciao All! Sorry I've been absent from this page for awhile. My husband and I moved to Belgium for his job and we'll be here about 2 years. It's all very exciting, but one of the best parts for me is... I'm that much closer to Tuscany!

We'll probably be heading down there this spring or summer, so I'll have some more photos for you. In the meantime, if you have any questions for your own travels, post them here and I'll see if I can provide tips, answers, suggestions and more.

Not technically in Tuscany -- but just 1.5 hours on a fast train from Florence -- is Rome. This 3-day itinerary has some great choices. Antica Arco is on my list!

With a bit of planning, the Eternal City can be at its most bewitching at the onset of winter.

Enjoyed this article! I, too, spent a week living like an Italian, but my language school was in Florence. It's true -- there is a whole different side of a city you experience when you're not being a tourist. That's why I love vacationing in a villa or farmhouse -- you're out in the "suburbs" with the real Italians. ;)

The spring is a great time to visit the coast, or really anywhere in Italy. Considerably fewer crowds in April and May, less expensive, and comfortably cool weather.

If you’re willing to travel in the spring instead of the summer, you can enjoy some of the most luxurious Italian coast resorts for much, much less.

I just uploaded a new post on my blog, www.addictedtoitaly.com. This one is about our visit to Il Frantoio di Vicopisano, an organic olive tree farm that produces some of the best ollve oil I've ever had. The tour and tasting were a great way to spend a day in Tuscany!

Fans of The Bachelor!! This season they filmed Episode 7 in Tuscany. From the previews I've seen, Florence is in and, I'm almost certain, the Anfiteatro in Lucca. Then some Chianti stuff it looks like. I think Episode 7 will be on Monday, Feb 12th, unless they skip a Monday somewhere for some reason.

For all you hipsters out there....

Even though it's not technically in Tuscany, Lake Como is worth a visit. I flew into Milan once (because of a cheap airfare) and made time for a day here before I flew back out. The actual town of Bellagio beats the Vegas Bellagio hands down.

Long a playground for Hollywood stars of a certain age, Lake Como is trying to attract a younger, hipper crowd.

I've had some good panini in small town trattorias, but would agree that you can get some winners in Florence.
