Amazing Place's Dementia Day Program is led by a highly professional and compassionate staff that quickly recognizes the individual needs and abilities of our participants. The center is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Both participants and caregivers have the option to select a schedule that best suits their needs. Located in the heart of Houston, the center provides a joyful envi
ronment of acceptance allowing all family members peace of mind. Amazing Place offers a variety of activities that build cognitive skills that can offset the effects of Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Our safe and welcoming environment encourages friendships, social activities, exercise and education. All staff and volunteers passionately promote self-efficacy. Our chef prepares a delicious and well thought out three-course lunch each day strictly following the guidelines of MPN (Memory Preservation Nutrition). Special events, like birthdays, are celebrated as a group and festive parties are planned for the holidays. Virtual classes and other online programming are available for those that cannot attend in person or prefer a hybrid solution customized to their unique needs. At Amazing Place, the Connections Program is devoted to supporting the well-being of our caretakers and community at large by offering a variety of classes and in-person services. Our mission is to empower lives disrupted by dementia. Amazing Place is a state-licensed, faith based non-profit organization governed by a board of directors with representatives from 16 Houston area churches.

It was a blessing to give the Robinson family a tour of new Amazing Place West and and show our founder’s grandchildren how his legacy continues! Nearly 30 years ago, Rev. Dean Robinson noticed how families were struggling with dementia and wanted to help. What began in two converted classrooms at St. Luke's UMC - Houston is now serving 8,000 individuals annually which we hope to double with the opening of our new West campus. His legacy lives on in the number of families who continue to receive help and hope through Amazing Place! 🕊️💙
