“Ghana's Republic Day is celebrated on July 1 every year. The day marks the establishment of Ghana as a sovereign republic in 1960. Though the nation gained independence from the British in 1957, it was only in 1960 that the country became a realized, sovereign republic”. Historical Fact.

“ In order to make it more meaningful, it has been dedicated to the country’s senior citizens and designated as Senior Citizens Day in recognition and appreciation of their invaluable contributions towards the attainment of Independence, the Republic, nation building and the development efforts of this country”.
We cannot forget !!!!
And if l should add : it is a Day for Senior Citizens to put aside their party colors and join together at town hall meetings to deliberate on GHANA.
We cannot forget 1st July as Republic Day !
