It was Rhodes, Amorgos and, last but never least, the gorgeous Santorini! What a week we have had on our 50-cabin, private yacht with great CE for our attending optometrists, touring the islands, cooking and cocktail classes, and fun in the sun for everyone. Come join us in 2025 for what we are calling “The Big 5!”
Roatan, Dominican Republic, Venice/Coatia (sold out), Scotland, and/or Banff and Lake Louise.

Mykonos, Patmos, and Bodrum (Turkey) doesn’t disappoint. Shopping, eating, swimming, picture taking, our special blue/white night and, sometimes, a few cocktails…. The yacht is spectacular and we can’t wait to be back on it next year sailing from Croatia to Venice. Check out all of our 2025 trips!!

What a wonderful 2024 trip to Greece for TropicalCE!! Our first stop included two days in Athens where we climbed the Acropolis to see the famous Parthenon, toured the adjacent, mind-blowing museum and then a visit to see the Changing of the Guard and the historic Olympic Village. In between, awesome sight seeing and Greek food galore! Saturday, after early am lectures, we took off on our private 50 cabin yacht!! Details of our Agean Sea island hopping in the next post!!! It’s “Back to Barbados” this week after 10 years!! We are loving this island with its beautiful water, beautiful people, and even a beautiful CE room for our outstanding CE lectures.

Day 5 was Amorgos, a quaint little island with a monastery, a beautiful small town, and a nice place to sit for a drink or two. For the afternoon, it was back-of-the-yacht water fun where we all played in the Aegean Sea!

Day 3 (Bodrum, Turkey) and Day 4 (Rhodes, Greece) did not disappoint. Lots of shopping, touring, a farm-to-table cooking class, multiple monasteries, castles, biking and, of course, eating and drinking. No signs of the wildfires where we were docked—just a great beach, city, and welcoming locals. We topped one of the nights off with “salmon-pants night” in honor of our leader, Stuart Autry, and his infamous colored pants. Day 1 (Mykonos) and Day 2 (Patmos) of our fabulous tour of the Aegean Islands on our private charter. 50 cabins filled with optometrists, spouses, and friends. 8 more hours of CE checked off and lots of fun on and off the ship. Dinner, along with “Blue and White Nautical Night”, and a Tropical CE trivia contest rounded out the day. Come join us!

Our 2023 Greece trip is in full swing! 2 days in Athens where we ate, drank, climbed the Acropolis, took tons of pictures at the Parthenon, visited Athens’ newest museum and then ate and drank some more! 6 hours of lecture this morning and now we board the yacht for a week in the islands! Why keep doing CE at a local restaurant in town when you could be doing trips like this??

What a great time we had last weekend wrapping up the details for our Labor Day trip to Maine!! Lobstering, hiking along the water, eating, eating, and more eating….. Our favorite day was in Kennebunkport where we shopped (and shopped) and biked by the water and by the Bush compound. Can’t wait to go back and have you join us!!

Our Story

Tropical CE has been dedicated to bringing cutting edge continuing education combined with exotic destinations since 1997. We always ensure that every hour of CE is COPE qualified, and all hours are submitted to ARBO electronically on the attendees behalf. All Tropical CE educational programs are administered under the auspices of the Rosenberg School of Optometry, University of the Incarnate Word. The University reviews and endorses all course materials, speakers, and presentations. For OD’s with Florida licenses, Tropical CE will also submit attendance hours to CE Broker. Join us for the upcoming season where you will hear the most knowledgeable and engaging speakers who deliver the most up-to-date information on primary eye care, diagnosis and management of ophthalmic disease and therapeutic drug use. At each event you receive up to 20 hours of cutting edge COPE approved continuing education. Most meetings begin with a Saturday evening cocktail reception around the pool. This is a great time for seeing old friends, meeting new ones and getting your Tropical CE experience off on the right foot. Sunday provides you with a day to enjoy yourself either at the beach, pool, or one of our optional activities. Classes of 5 hours each day begin on Monday morning. The afternoon is open for fun. Join the group activity for the day, perhaps snorkeling on a catamaran or riding horses down the beach. Take off on your own for a round of golf or just put your feet up in a hammock with a good book. Classes are held again on Tuesday morning and Wednesday is another free day. Join us in the jungle as we float down the river through a set of caves or go sailing on an ancient wooden tall ship. Lectures begin again on Thursday afternoon and finish on Friday morning giving you the option to stay an extra weekend. We recommend a minimum of a Saturday to Saturday stay. We invite you, your family and friends, to join the Tropical CE family. All of your guests are included in our group, and receive the same discounted pricing. The remainder of our 2020 schedule brings us to Riviera Maya, Sonoma, & Alaska. All of these events are unique and exciting in their own way! Our 2021 events have just been released! Join us in the Bahamas, Playa Mujeres, Riviera Maya, Florida Keys, or Portugal If you want to savor exotic food, snorkel in warm crystal clear waters, enjoy duty-free shopping, explore exotic tropical islands, deep-sea fish or experience the finest scuba diving in the world, then don't miss the opportunity to attend one of this season's Tropical CE meetings.
