Back Stage tidbits - All of us here at Points Unknown in one photo! But then there are all of the volunteers and part time helpers/friends that pop in when we need an extra hand. That would require an entire collage of its own. So many thanks to all of those wonderful people. ❤

I am down to 21 dogs. One is retired and two are not sled dogs. At one point in time, I had 38 dogs and decided very quickly that I didn't have enough physical or emotional energy for them all. I like where I am now. I have more time for myself, I can provide a more intimate experience for my guests, and I can spend more quality time with each dog. Those are the goals!

"You say there's a cold streak coming? Huh. Okay." Taza, Knik, and all of the Points Unknown Sled Dogs have super thick double coats that help insulate them from the cold. They were born and bred for temperatures well below zero and prefer these cold temperatures to anything above freezing in the winter. We make sure their dog houses are filled to the brim with clean, dry straw. And even then, we'll see the dogs lounging on top of their dog houses or curled up on the ground, chomping on a bone, even at minus 25 Fahrenheit. #
