From now through August 28, low-cost Icelandic airline Play is offering travelers from New York Stewart International Airport at Newburgh $99 flights to Iceland and $129 to six European destinations.

In Connecticut, Northern Fairfield and Northern New Haven Counties. In New Jersey, Western Passaic County. In New York, Northern Westchester, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Southern Westchester Counties.

* WHEN
From noon Monday to 10 PM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.

Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at an increased risk. Homes without air conditioning can be much hotter than outdoor temperatures.

Use air conditioning to stay cool at home or go to a place that has air conditioning. If you don't have home air conditioning, continue to seek out cool spaces each day as long as it remains hot, and for a few days after if your home is still hot. Check on vulnerable friends, family members and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! In cases of heat stroke call 9 1 1.

A new tool to help with mental health emergencies is officially being introduced on Thursday called the Green Flashing Light Law.
The new law will allow mobile response teams heading to mental health emergencies to display green lights.
These response teams are responding to crisis situations alongside police officers, but aren't always in marked cars.
Drivers are requested to yield to these green lights rather than being required to with red flashing lights.
Joseph Glazer, of the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, helped to get the law passed. He says every second counts when someone is having a mental health crisis.
"If a person is in an ongoing state of decline, the quicker you get there the quicker you can stint the decline," says Glazer.
Cities can choose not to use the green lights.
Multiple emergency departments in the Hudson Valley say they are still trying to figure the system out.

AURORA WATCH: There is a chance that the aurora will again be visible over our region tonight. *If* it happens, and *if* cloud cover allows, the best times to see it would be between 10pm-12am and 2am-4am.

You'll want to make sure you have a clear view of the northern sky (ideally the horizon), without many unnatural lights shining toward you. Allow your eyes enough time to adjust to the dark.

If you missed it last night, there still is a chance to see it tonight. HVW tip, "Use your phone camera on enhanced exposure to see the lights better. It’s hard to see with the naked eye, unless conditions are perfect (zero light pollution)."

Auroras are now being reported across parts of the region and as far south and the Carolina’s. In addition the sun has just had another X-Class solar flare, this one measuring in at an X5.4, in comparison the geomagnetic storm we are currently seeing is the result of multiple X1.2 flares. It is to be determined if this flare is also earth facing. If so its effects would not be realized from about 36-48 hours which could further enhance or continue the severity of our current geomagnetic storm.
