Today is , so it only seems right to celebrate our fearless leader, Mr. Andy Rodecap!

Andy joined Local 101 in 1997 and came onboard with Gilmore Crane in 2015. Over the last few years, Andy's roll within the company has shifted; these days he mainly focuses on the day-to-day operations of the business, however when the schedule is full you're able to find him behind the controls at one of the jobs.

Andy states the most enjoyable part of the trade is watching someone he's taught take the reins and succeed on their own.

During his spare time, you can find Andy, and his better half, Theresa, on the golf course, enjoying their friends and family, or spoiling their grands.

While we may give him a lot of grief, we are very appreciative to have this dedicated individual as our leader.

So, here's to you, Andy.

In honor of National Construction Appreciation Week, we’re shouting out our Certified Crane Operators and Oilers for all they do; 'cause heck, without them, we wouldn't be in business.

Rounding out our crew, Ryan Baker!

Ryan joined Local 101, and Gilmore Crane, in November of 2016 and has been a valuable member of the team ever since. You’ll mainly find Ryan behind the controls of our big rig, the Liebherr 240T, but he’s a switch hitter, and operates our other cranes as needed.

When Ryan isn’t raking in the hours at Gilmore, there’s a good chance you’ll find him working on one of his many projects, showing off his Watermelon Crawl at Skinny’s, or cruising around on his Harley with his lovely girlfriend, Justina.

Understandably, we are very thankful to have this driven individual on the Gilmore Team.

Next up, Josh Smoot!

Josh joined Local 101, and Gilmore Crane, in March of 2018. He remains our loyal Oiler as he simply enjoys the mechanical side of the trade.

Josh really is our saving grace when it comes to the maintenance on our rigs. If he’s not on a job, you can find him keeping busy in our shop. He’s extremely knowledgeable and can fix just about anything…if not everything.

When Josh isn’t working in the Gilmore shop, or on a Gilmore job, you’ll find him tinkering in his personal shop – working on his flat track quads and prepping for his next race. In his spare time though, he and girlfriend, Katie, enjoy riding their side-by-side with pup, Nala.

Undeniably, we are very fortunate to have this reliable individual on the Gilmore Team.

In honor of National Construction Appreciation Week, we’re shouting out our Certified Crane Operators and Oilers for all they do; 'cause heck, without them, we wouldn't be in business.

In today’s spotlight, we’ve got Trent Joice.

Trent joined Local 101 in July of 2019 and onboarded with Gilmore Crane in July of 2020. While Trent is our dedicated 30T and 50T Boom Truck Operator, he’s also operated our 90T and 240T Hydraulic Truck Cranes.

Trent states his most memorable work-related experience since joining Gilmore Crane was when they had to save the day after a semi’s trailer broke in half on Highway 62. It was quite a scene – a narrow highway, with no shoulders, and on a hilly stretch; they had to bring in rock to fill the ditch for the crane to set up properly. We’ll share pictures at a later date, but for now, back to Trent!

When Trent isn’t operating for Gilmore Crane or lending a helping hand at WH Scale Company in Topeka, he and his wife, Kelsey, are kept very busy by their little one, Harper, and Baby #2 due in October of 2022!

Needless to say, we are beyond thankful to have this committed individual on the Gilmore Team.

In honor of National Construction Appreciation Week, we're shouting out our Certified Crane Operators and Oilers for all they do; 'cause heck, without them, we wouldn't be in business.

Next up, the newest member of the Gilmore team, Trevor Moore.

Trevor joined Local 101, and Gilmore Crane, in August of 2022 after moving back from Casper, Wyoming. While Trevor may not be a Certified Crane Operator (yet), he proves his worth daily as a Crane Oiler.

Prior to moving back to Topeka, Trevor was a fly-fishing guide in Casper. He claims he moved back because the season was getting slow, but we think we he moved back because he missed the great state of Kansas, and all she has to offer!

When Trevor isn’t clocking 50+ hours a week, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he also enjoys discovering new restaurants with his lovely girlfriend, Madison. If you haven’t had a chance to try Q39, go now; it’s Trevor’s favorite, and I’m sure you’ll love it too!

It goes without saying, but we are incredibly lucky to have this determined individual on the Gilmore Team.

In honor of National Construction Appreciation Week, we're shouting out our Certified Crane Operators and Oilers for all they do; 'cause heck, without them, we wouldn't be in business.

Starting off our roster is Sampson Smith.

Sampson joined Local 101, and Gilmore Crane, in August of 2018. Since joining our team, he has operated each piece of equipment, but he's our dedicated 90T Operator. He states the most enjoyable part of being an Operator is seeing the jobsite go from nothing to something in just a matter of hours.

When Sampson isn't working at Gilmore Crane, he clocks some hours for a local transport company AND he serves as a Firefighter and Board Member on the Holton Volunteer Fire Department.

As if Sampson’s life wasn’t busy enough; he and his wife, Krista, have 2 adorable kiddos, Maverick and Emmalyn, and they’re expecting baby #3 in January of 2023!

We are so grateful to have this hard-working, busy body on the Gilmore Team!
