8-12 feet is expected from the surge tonight. We sealed all windows and openings with peelable caulk and flood tape and built some dams. We are hoping it can stop the water a bit so we can have our piece of paradise back with minimal damage.

Happy New Year from GULF BREEZE.

The weather is gorgeous! Finally able to turn the heat off and now we get a fog in the middle of the afternoon! All plants seamed to have survived the freeze except some herbs…replanting some seeds tomorrow.

GULF BREEZE SURVIVED so far.
Our area 2 days ago was going to be ground zero…a 10 ft. Plus surge was expected. We truly knew 5 feet of water would be in the house. The worst would be ahead of us. Instead we had a very unusual situation. The Gulf was sucked dry by the storm.We are thankful so far for no real damage, power has stayed on and the gusts are minimal.
These photos were taken at high tide.
Supposedly the next high tide should correct it and also include a surge…I hope not, but our alarm is set for 3 AM just to be on the cautious side.

We stopped by a great brewery in Dunedin this past weekend. Did you know this the oldest Micro Brewery in Florida? Many more cool little brewery’s and places around this little town. Food, drinks and shopping. Just a quick 40 minute drive. Pronounced
DUN-E-DIN.

Gulf Breeze is pretty much finished with the back yard area for everyone to enjoy! We also added a little coffee bar area to the inside and painted the inside of the Lanai. Please enjoy our newly refurbished space.
