Our Story

Wagner Charters is a father and son family owned business started in 2008. This business venture began as a part time operation offering fishing and tours on weekends. Captain Bob holds a U.S. Coast Guard Masters credential and is a U.S. Air Force vet. He retired in 2015 from a Director of Engineering/Electrical Engineering profession to operate this charter business full time. After 40 yrs of fishing these Pacific waters he would like to share what he has learned with others who enjoy the ocean and all of its sea life.

Robert serves as first mate and alternate skipper on Wagner Charters. He has been fishing these ocean waters with his dad for the past 20 yrs. Robert ensures that all passengers get any assistance they need and have a thoroughly enjoyable experience on the water. His previous job experience in management and Telecommunications systems has provided him with the people skills necessary to guarantee complete customer satisfaction.

We started this business in Huntington Beach CA. in 2008, wanting to Share our experience of fishing and boating these Southern California waters for over 30 years. We take out all kinds of groups, (groups of 4 typically) on private charters ranging from seasoned Anglers to first time fisherman, family's with all ages, a dudes day out, or the ladies private harbor cruise. We decided we wanted to do something different and personal, we strive to personalize your charter our tour to your personal liking. Whether that be fishing local or off shore, harbor tours, free diving or you just wanted to fish a few hours and get dropped off for lunch in Catalina.
