This month we would like to showcase a resident who goes above and beyond to spread positivity and who is not quiet about showing her apprication with our community. 😊❤

Lorraine, thank you for making the staff at Deer Path smile!

Having a positive attitude about your situation and circumstances leads to being hopeful-that describes Lorraine Rattazzi, resident at Deer Path of Huntley. Lorraine moved into Deer Path several months ago and really enjoys her living situation. From the Dining Room service and staff to the Clinical Team, Lorraine is very complimentary to the employees-they are awesome and respectful. The Resident Services Coordinator, Tiffany, is very organized, creative, and communicative, as well. Lorraine’s background parallels with her appreciation for the outstanding services here at Deer Path. Lorraine has endured several medical situations-from a stroke to several hip surgeries, as well as caring for her mother several years ago. She also was an EMT and Firefighter in the 1st District Fire Department in Chicago. In fact, she was the first woman to graduate from the 1st District Academy-Oak Forest. Lorraine was also a certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. Caring for others and being the recipient of that care leads to her appreciation of staff at Deer Path of Huntley. Her positive attitude and appreciation are ways she contributes to the community. If anyone is considering living at Deer Path of Huntley, Lorraine would say you have to check it out. She also says the community is very welcoming and clean compared to her former residences, this is a welcome change.

We had fun creating our Scottish Terriers for the craft portion of our Craft & Cuisine World Tour this month. This was another one of our recycling crafts. The body made from empty toilet paper/paper towel rolls. Then everyone glued yarn on the form and added googly eyes. Some even named their furry friends.

Our Sayonara Summer rodeo social was so much fun! It was wonderful to see all the residents and staff participating. Even surprise guest appearances from Elvis & the Duke. Kelly was our resident volunteer handing out the popcorn filled boots. We had lots of laughs and made some great memories!
