Praying for those affected! 🙏
Heavenly Father, Christ calmed some storms (Mark 4:39) and other storms He walked into (Matthew 14:26).
We know, storms or not, that surely you are with us always, even to the end of age (Matthew 28:20).
We pray for relief for all of those who are suffering or will suffer from flooding.
We pray for your hand of providence and care - that you would order all things visible and invisible for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We pray for safety and wisdom for our neighbors and community and first responders.
We pray for your miraculous power to be at work in hidden and secret ways - just as the Israelites wandering the desert began to realize that their clothes and sandals never wore out (Deuteronomy 29:5) so too may you undergird our resources, structures, property, and lives.
In you, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
We pray for the peace and prosperity of our community (Jeremiah 29:7).
We pray for wisdom for our authorities (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
We pray all these things in the name of Jesus - the one whom the disciples asked, "Who is this man? That even the wind and waves obey him!" (Matthew 8:27)
