Great news for flyers!
I have had to fight an airline that cancelled my flight and refused to refund me cash. A non-transferable credit, that expires in 9 months, to an airline that doesn't fly within hundreds of miles of me, is no good! I did a charge back with my credit card and fortunately, they agreed with me.
Airlines in the United States are now required to give passengers cash refunds if their flight is significantly delayed or canceled, even if that person does not explicitly ask for a refund.
