Not really a secret, but certainly one of the least visited sections of the park. The entrance is located on Interstate-15 about half-way between Hurricane and Cedar City. The five-mile scenic drive through this section of Zion has numerous viewpoints and offers hiking trails for all levels of hikers.

The waterfalls at Gunlock State Park have made an early return! These spillway-created waterfalls, formed by the overflow of water from Pine Valley Mountain and the surrounding area, are a popular springtime attraction when conditions are right.

This year’s overflow isn’t as high as last year’s but safety advisories remain in place for those who choose to visit the site. Stay safe and watch your children closely.

Located outside of Hildale, Utah on the Arizona Strip Water Canyon is considered one of Southern Utah’s hidden gems. The trail parallels a small stream through a canyon on BLM land, leading to a waterfall found less than a mile from the trailhead making this moderate 3.3-mile round-trip hike worth exploring.
