Alaska, you stole my heart! Majestic doesn’t begin to describe how beautiful and awe inspiring this state is and we only explored a fraction of it. We will return!!

Today we stopped in Juneau and once again we lucked out with the weather. Just a little rain but nothing to complain about.

We took a bus out to the Mendenhall Glacier which was amazing! I wish I had a better word to describe it but you really understand the beauty and magnificent of nature here. I could have spent hours hiking the park and looking at the glacier. What a day!!

I’m sailing around Alaska this week with my family. It’s been on my bucket list and I’m so glad we’re experiencing it together.

Our first stop was in the city of Ketchikan. What an adorable city! The cruise ship docked right in town and we were able to do a little exploring on our own before our afternoon activity. There are lots of shops and restaurants just steps away from the dock.

Our afternoon activity involved a lumberjack show and trying our hand at axe throwing. It was a lot harder than it looked. We have an expert axe thrower in the family- hint, it wasn’t me.

After the show, we took our time walking back to the ship and did a little shopping. It was a wonderful day. Can’t wait for Juneau tomorrow!

As we enter the summer travel season, be aware that there are resources to help make your airport travel a little easier. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provides travelers with several resources on their website, TSA.gov.

Did you know that you could text TSA and ask them questions? Like "Can I bring baby formula in my carry on bag?" or "How about my baseball bat?" Both of these are good questions! You can text "Travel" to 275-872 or reach them on FB Messenger at www.fb.com/AskTSA. Twitter users can contact them at .

The TSA Cares program also provides information on security procedures to help passengers with disabilities, medical conditions and individuals needing additional assistance. Visit TSA.gov for more information.

Our last few days in the Netherlands was spent visiting Amersfoort and enjoying some delicious food. What a beautiful country. I’ve fallen in love with the Netherlands!!

If you visit the Netherlands, be sure to visit cities outside of Amsterdam like Utrecht and Amersfoot. There are so many beautiful, small towns and it’s so easy to travel by train. We’ll be back Netherlands!

This weekend consisted of a visit to The Hague, where we saw some very famous artwork, and a leisurely day around Utrecht which is our home base for this trip. And of course more flowers!

Hello Amsterdam! The sun finally made an appearance today which made our time in the city even more enjoyable.

Once we arrived at the central station, we decided to wander the city, headed in the direction of the Van Gogh museum. I just love walking aimlessly around cities and discovering interesting sights. You never know what you’ll find. Like a Lego store with a windmill in the window!

After our pancake lunch, we made our way to the Van Gogh museum. It was about a 30 minute walk from the central train station and easy to find. The audio tour is a must when visiting! This museum is now one of my favorites. It was well organized and easy to maneuver. And not overwhelming as the collection isn’t too large. It’s on my “must see” list for Amsterdam!

Another iconic activity in Amsterdam is taking a canal boat tour. They are located all around the city so we grabbed one just outside the museum center. It was a lovely 75 minute ride with so many beautiful views. It was a leisurely way to end our day in the city.

We made our way back to the train station and took the quick 30 minute ride back to Utrecht. We found a cafe on our way home and had dinner and drinks Al fresco. It was a great day in Amsterdam!

Today we took a 30 minute train from Utrecht to Amsterdam. It was a beautiful day so we decided to walk to our destination of the Rijksmuseum. We stopped for lunch along the way. Pancakes! 😋

The Rijksmuseum has an amazing collection of Dutch masters like Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Vermeer. We were fortunate to get a behind the scenes look at their library from the director and it was amazing! This museum is a must for anyone visiting Amsterdam!

Today we took a train from Utrecht to Tilburg and visited their award winning library. It was named the 2nd best library in the world in 2019 when it opened. This place was amazing!

The director gave us a tour of the building which was an old train repair station. It cost 35 million Euros to renovate and is now considered the “living room” of the community. We saw students there studying, parents with young children, and friends meeting in the cafe for coffee.

He said three things were crucial in making it a success: good coffee, fast WiFi and power outlets everywhere! 😊 If you are ever in the area, stop by and take a tour. They have a volunteer staff of 25 who just give tours as part of their hospitality department.
