We did it! Thank you to all of our guests for booking with us and appreciating how we've hosted your stays!

We have some exciting changes coming up and I can't wait to share them here.

Anyone who's stayed with us in the past, we hope you enjoy these changes and to everyone new, know that we keep making sustainable, eco-friendly changes that will enhance your experience!

Recent changes include:
1) Non-toxic, zero-waste porcelain dinnerware
2) 100% cotton sheets
3) 100% cotton and feather down comforters
4) 100% washed cotton duvet covers

We've always used:
1) Tru Earth Eco-friendly, Biodegradable, Zero Waste, Cruelty-Free laundry detergent sheets for sensitive skin
2) Method Compostable and Plant-Based dryer sheets
3) 7th Generation dishwashing pellets
4) Method all-purpose cleaning spray

We can't wait to share more as we go!

What’s your sacred place?

This is one of my sacred places… it is where my mind rests and my soul recharges. . . It also happens to be the backyard of our current home base. It is a life shift that took me 40 years to make but I finally did it, and there’s no going back.

I’ve recently started waking up at 5/5:30am (depending on my sleep time), when dawn is just starting to break, when I have the birds and the trees and the clouds and even the sun to myself for a little bit.

Waking up with the world is so magical. I prep my maté and journal the night before; I keep my snow pants, coat, and boots by the door (it’s still in the 40s/50s at that time), and I step out onto our back deck allowing the sacred sounds of our forest home to envelope me.

Or maybe you will remember just how much time you spent in that office at the expense of other pursuits or relationships. . .

One thing ADHD has gifted me with is a sense of urgency, a keen sense of how short life is, how little time there is with the ones we love.

I wonder, how many of us could live differently but don't? And if enough of us just got up and left the current paradigm, could it even sustain itself?

If enough of us said, we don't want this - we don't want to work endless hours, just barely make our mortgage payments, be grateful for the 2-4 weeks of quality vacation time we are permitted - we could make something different, we really could.

My mountains are quite literal, I want to climb all the god damn mountains, but also, I need to climb the god damn mountain of breaking from the current paradigm so my children don't feel like they have to conform to it. . .

Climb your god damn mountain - whatever it is. Whether your passion is art, medicine, social activism, hair or make-up artistry - climb your mountain but don't become a slave to the societal expectations associated with that industry, city, etc. Find your ways to do your thing but don't let those "powers that be" dictate your work hours or how you live your life just to permit you the honor of climbing your own mountain - just climb your god damn mountain on your terms - once others set parameters around what your mountain is, it no longer is your mountain, it's "the office"
