This quiet, secluded cabin is perched on a hillside at the end of a peaceful residential road surrounded by towering pine trees. With a forest backyard, the deck is the perfect place to drink a cup of coffee in the morning and look out on lots of wildlife, including deer, bright blue Steller’s jays, woodpeckers, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and lizards. In spite of the “getting away from it all” vibe, the cabin is only a 6-minute drive into Idyllwild's town center and easily accessible to all of the area's hiking trails.
With an eclectic aesthetic that mixes modern and vintage, Scout’s Hideaway is cozy but feels spacious, with two roomy bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a queen) and a living room that opens onto the deck. The kitchen is fully stocked for making meals at home, and coffee and tea are on hand for you to enjoy.
In the evening, you’ll want to get a fire crackling in the wood-burning stove, cozy up with a glass of whiskey or wine, and watch the glow on the mountains from the deck as the sun sets. The cabin is meant to be a peaceful spot to find joy in nature and the company of friends and family, so we have a variety of games and puzzles on hand but choose not to have a TV. Job Description
We are looking for a special person to be not only a Reservationist, but also someone with experience exceeding sales goals. This position fulfills reservation requests by determining property availability to meet the guest’s desires. We want someone who enjoys learning on the computer and is curious as to how things work. Someone who is given a task and can take initiative to go figure out how something is done. We want a leader, not someone who just follows orders. This is not an entry level position.
In this role you will be responsible for answering the phone and answering email inquiries. This is not straightforward! You need to know how to put puzzle pieces together and think how to maximize number of nights, evaluate all inquiries, and know how to juggle well. You need an incredible memory.
Your role is to not only book vacation rentals, but to support all guests. This includes knowing the areas that we service well in addition to knowing each property well. It also includes providing exceptional customer service when guest call and need help in any way.
Being flexible and a team player are musts and part of our culture. Being a quick thinker, able to multi-task, and able to not easily get flustered are key attributes to being successful in this position.Changing and assessing priorities are constant in this position.
You must be an exceptional people person who communicates easily and naturally. You must be quick, caring, have the highest level of integrity and a great problem solver. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English is required, (bilingual in Spanish is a plus) as you must be very comfortable on the phone. Superb writing skills are also required.
Position Goals and Responsibilities:
Communicate with New Spirit guests via phone calls and emails, actively listening to determine appropriate property, considering travel dates; financial considerations; and accommodations required.
Accurately educate prospective guests on desired properties; ask lead generating questions and sell alternate properties when desired property is not available.
Assist guests with outstanding customer service issues, proving effective and immediate resolutions.
Qualifications
*Rare exceptions for those with previous experience in the vacation rental/hospitality field
3-5 years of experience in Travel and Tourism, Sales and Marketing, or Customer Service and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of Vacation Rental Software Escapia , a plus
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Successful candidates will have the following

Unlike many houses in Idyllwild that are nestled completely in the pine trees, the Dome is perched on the edge of Crestview Drive and offers vistas to the ocean on the clearest days. The Dome covers over 1.5 acres of land.
