Nevada Weather Trivia: We have seen some active storm seasons in recent years, but nothing like the monster 1951-52 season. There were many memorable stories from that year, but one has to be considered at the top of the list. January 13, 1952, the westbound "City of San Francisco" was caught in a Sierra blizzard near Yuba Pass. The train, full of passengers, was stranded in the drifts until the snow finally let up on the 19th.
