Starting out much warmer than the last couple days with low humidity. The breeze is expected to pick up a little from the north later today, but not an issue. The September 11th Memorial at the fire station in Indian Rocks Beach is made of steel remnants from the World Trade Center.
The shape of the fountain pool is a pentagon, in memory of those who lost their lives at The Pentagon in Washington, DC. The keystone shapes on the walls of the pool symbolize Pennsylvania, the Keystone State. This is in rememberance of the heroes on United Flight 93, who crashed their plane into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Good morning IRB! Daily Beach report by IRB Chairs from 17th Ave. on Indian Rocks Beach. Starting out with some clouds and some sun with a few rumbles of thunder out in the Gulf. Forecast calls for scattered showers and storms today but currently nothing heading directly towards us. We will have an onshore breeze all day, so any storms that we get will be coming from the west. High tide was at 6:00 am this morning and the beach is very narrow. Good news is that for the rest of the day it will be going out to give us all more dry sand. Overall we may have to dodge a storm today but doesn’t appear to be a washout. Happy Friday and have a great day!

Christmas Boat Parades this weekend! ⛵️🚤🛥⛵️🚤🛥⛵️🚤🛥 Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7pm Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Boat Parade Parade begins at 7:00pm behind Holiday Inn Harbourside traveling north throughout the fingers up to Harbor Drive North. Sunday, Dec. 19 at 6:30pm Indian Shores Holiday Boat Parade Parade begins at 6:30pm by R.O.C. Park near the Tom Stuart Causeway in Madeira Beach, heading north to Indian Shores. Viewing locations include Seabreeze Island Grill and the Pavilion at Chief E.D. Williams Park by Indian Shores City Hall. There will be hot cocoa and cookies after 7pm at the Pavilion. Judging and contest winner party will take place at Caddy’s Indian Shores on Jan. 19, 2022.
