It is with incredible sadness that we share that Jamey Lynch recently was welcomed home to The Lord. Jamey first lived with us at the Indy Hostel back in 2015. When Nate and I moved into the Blue House the following year, he the very first person we had the pleasure of being able to live with which lasted through various different seasons over the years. He was much more than a guest, he was a very big and positive part of our Airbnb work family from the very first day. Jamey would always be the first one up to watch a sunrise from the porch before a day's work and he would always be the first one to volunteer to make a bonfire to watch the sunset at the conclusion of a day. He loved sunrises and sunsets. He had a huge heart, gentle soul, and a hunger to learn about people around him. Many guests we hosted from all over the world would be greeted by Jamey and find themselves lost in deep conversations about travel, life, faith, and family. He always took a strong interest in others and how he could help them, even if he barely knew them. He would always tell everyone about the many exciting ideas he would have about the Airbnb business and the directions it could go. He was very skilled at the work he did which often took him to various job sites across the country. However anytime we had the opportunity to rejoin him here in Indiana, we were always greeted with a huge smile and warm hug. Jamey was known for writing Christmas cards, sharing a hopeful Bible verse to anyone needing encouragement, and for closing phone calls with a sincere "I love you and hope you are well." We will miss him dearly until we get to see him again on the other side.
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31
