Ever use this signal while diving?

Many divers interpret this signal to mean “half a tank.” If you began your dive with 3000 PSI and are now reading 1500 PSI on your SPG, you could give this signal to your buddy or to your dive guide. This is quicker and easier than signaling out 1-5-0-0 and leaves less room for a misinterpretation. Giving this signal to your dive guide is extremely courteous: It helps them pace your tour and ensure that everyone in the group makes it to the exit point with plenty of gas. It can also remind others in the group to check their gas supply again. Monitoring gas supply throughout a dive is a must for safe diving and it will help you avoid an out-of-air emergency.
