Since 1970, rural communities have seen positive shifts in migration, economic development, and community engagement, shaping a future that challenges outdated perceptions.

Join us on March 11 at Noon via Zoom for a conversation with Ben Wi******er, a rural sociologist and researcher who has spent over 25 years studying and working with small towns across the Midwest. There is a rising mental health crisis in the farming community. Farmer su***de rates are 2-5x higher than the national average. Factors like debt, rising costs, unpredictable weather, and volatile markets contribute to this alarming trend.

You can directly support farmers by shopping locally. Visit farmers markets in the summer, buy directly from farms, join a CSA, and support local grocery stores. These actions not only strengthen our local food systems but also provide vital economic and social support to our rural farming communities.
