📣 September 14th, 2024 Notice:
Our community is mourning the tragic loss of 3 wonderful gentlemen. In order to allow our staff, volunteers, and Board Members the opportunity to attend these men's funeral visitations, we are canceling our 2pm public cruise for September 14th.
All other scheduled cruises will proceed as normal. We hope you will join us on Sunday September 15th.

Thanks to those that were able to come to our Owl Prowl events this season! We had a blast on all THREE loaded cruises and learned something new on each one! We wouldn't have learned all of these neat facts, without our friends from Calkins Nature Area so they, too, deserve a huge thank you!

Although river levels are coming down, the current is still moving much faster than we'd like. We understand the frustrations that we have been hearing... we are also sad. Canceling any event is not a quick or easy decision. We have to consider the safety of our passengers, crew and Empress in times like these. Running against the current is hard on our motors (current is also stirring up debris) and if our motors were to overheat, I'm not sure our anchors would hold with the river churning like it is. Let's hope, for everyone's sake, that the rain season calms down a bit so our rivers can catch up.
We truly appreciate your patience, and hope this is the last weekend that we'll need to cancel!

We want to thank you all, again, for an amazing start to our cruise season!
Our office hours will be limited during the week of July 8-12th, while we recharge and reset from the busy holiday week/weekend. We WILL be in daily to respond to messages, though the timing may be different each day. We appreciate your support and we will see you all on Saturday and Sunday for our public cruises 🛳
