It's been a long couple of days filled with anxiety patiently waiting the arrival of Cass's kids in this winter blast! She got busy this morning and delivered these two beautiful doe kids! We dried them off, wrapped them in towels and put them in the barrel warmer until they were ready to nurse. Everyone is doing well! It's amazing how quickly they figure out where the warm spot is! Two more does due this weekend and we are thankful that it will be a lot warmer!!

And so it begins! These 2 cuties showed up earlier this afternoon after a fast labor and delivery, just the way we like it! They were up within minutes, nursed, and got their navels dipped in iodine. Mama got a big bucket of warm molasses water and resumed munching on hay! Good job Cola!! 💗

Does this feeder make my butt look fat?! Jellie want to know! Sweet Memorys Jellie is a big buxom gal and her baby basket looks full!! She is bred to our spotted buck, Chalivah Bias and is due March 1st. She is a 2 yr old first freshener and we look forward to seeing her kids and getting her on the milk stand!

These pretty gals are on vacation and enjoying some sunshine and late season nibbles in the pasture.Everyone is dried off and our first kids are due February 9th! We will resume fresh milk sales beginning in early spring. But we do have a nice selection of goat cheeses available including goat milk cheddar!!

I've been working on my Black Copper Marans and Olive Egger project And decided it was time to infuse some new blood from a new flock, as it is time to retire my old rooster. We took a fun road trip this weekend to my new pretty chicken/pretty egg dealer and brought home some new bloodlines! We have gathered up our hens that lay the darkest eggs and have them in a breeding pen and have started collecting eggs to set in the incubator for a couple of fall hatches. Thank you, Dee Luker for sharing your hard work and genetics from your flock with us!
