There’s a new luxury cruise line in the game now called Explora Journeys. This low capacity, 5 star product will compete with the cream of the crop of suite and butler level brands. Rhe big news is that we will be sailing the Explora I next week from Miamii to Colombia and finishing in Panama’s City. My experience aboard the Star Clipper was so different than any other cruise I had been on. Accommodations were comfortable and well thought out considering the amount of space they have to work with. Public spaces aboard the ship are multifunction areas that are used throughout the sailing. Lines for sails adorn the top deck and a lot of stepping over and under ropes is a requirement. This is definitely not a cruise for those that are mobility challenged as there are no elevators and the ship moves quite a bit. I call this an “Experiential” ship as you don’t just lay around and relax the entire time. In this post, you can see my cabin and many of the public areas.

This was my third visit to Espacio Waikikiand we was privileged to be able to stay here for 3 full days! The property features 9 spacious 3 Bedroom suites, each occupying an entire floor of the building. The other floors dedicated to a welcome lobby where you can enjoy your morning breakfast and refresh your wine glass with some fine grapes. Another is dedicated to their fine dining restaurant Mugen Waikiki. One floor for the spa. And the highlight is the rooftop infinity pool and whirlpool bath that also features a full outdoor kitchen for catering and parties.

Every suite features a full kitchen with the best appliances and cook wear. Each floor also features its on color scheme of softgoods and decor. The master bedroom overlooks Waikiki beach that can be seen from a beautiful four post bed. The bathroom features a multi head rain shower and bathtub. The second room features the same shower and a private dry sauna! The third room features shower and tub. All rooms feature TOTO Washlet smart toilets, even the hallway bathroom!

Service at the property is some of the best I’ve ever experienced which is one of the big reasons that the property has already won the Forbes 5 Star Award and AAA 5 Diamonds.

It’s finally happening! The pre-cruise covid testing requirement is going away industry wide. You’re still required to be vaccinated to cruise, but this is the best start! Now, I’m extra excited about our Virgin Voyages sailing in 3 weeks! If you’ve been wanting to take a cruise, now is the time to book. Prices are really low right now, but with this new development, I think sales will begin to ramp up and start getting more expensive. So, don’t wait or you’ll miss out on the amazing prices floating around.
