Halloween is almost here!

Join us for the Halloween Trunk or Treat & Costume Parade on October 31st at the Historic Irvington Commons!

There will be a costume parade & lots of candy! It's encouraged to get creative this year and boast your scariest or most original costumes.

Irving the Pumpkin will be there to welcome everybody and the VIA will be handing out candy and goodies starting at 5 PM. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)

Free event! All area children, 12 and under, are invited to participate.

Take advantage of 'October Virginia Wine Month' and discover: The Dog and Oyster Micro-Vineyard and its Oyster Bar!

For ten years Dudley and Peggy Patteson, owners of the Hope and Glory, also owned the nearby and acclaimed The Dog and Oyster Vineyard which had been selected by Virginia Tourism as one of their "Ten Best of the Best". At the end of last year, they saw an opportunity to reposition the vineyard as a micro-vineyard in front of the Hope and Glory Inn.

It is an upscale and elegant setting to savor their wine with oysters especially from local oyster farmers.Toward that goal, the owners planted a micro-vineyard of Petit Manseng at their boutique hotel Hope and Glory Inn. A large paver patio and a clear span tent was added to protect their wine and oyster guests as they dined al fresca.

At The Dog and Oyster Micro-Vineyard two of the four wines are 100% estate grown wine using two varieties of grapes: Chardonel and Vidal Blanc (used for the two white wines they offer).

The wine is offered by the flight, the glass, by the bottle, and by the case. Tastings are also available!
