On this week's post of "In Our AP Era," I am featuring Thanksgiving week!!

My family stayed off-site at a Marriott resort near Disney Springs. We had a 2 queen beds with a sofa bed room. The room wasn't special, just a place to sleep. The big benefit was free breakfast every morning.

We had our car and got free parking at the theme parks with our annual passes. We visited all 4 parks and had a blast!!

We did purchase Multi-pass, but staying off-site, I could not get any single passes or the top attractions at each park. I had to do a LOT of refreshing on my phone. Or we waited in hour+ lines.

Here are my Pros to staying off-site
*free breakfast
*We used our Marriott points to get a few nights free

Cons!!
*had to drive ourselves and deal with traffic
* If you don't drive down and have to rent a car, it can get pretty expensive. (Take that money and stay on Disney property and use their FREE transportation)
* If you don't have annual passes, you will have to pay $30 a day to park...added cost. (FREE parking at the Disney resorts) Plus add that gettingnto Magic Kingdom took us over 45 mins AFTER we parked.
**unable to get the top attractions on multi - and Single pass
* No early entry into the parks, which meant we lost precious low waits times on popular rides. (Stay on Disney site and gain an extra 30 minutes in each park)

Overall, we had a blast, but I would NEVER recommend this to a client. My family knows our way around Walt Disney World. We go multiple times a year, so missing out on certain rides wasn't a big deal for us. Nothing beats arriving in the Disney bubble and staying there from start to finish. That Disney magic can not be compared!!

I am investing in different types of vacation so I can do research and advise your vacation!!!
