Went 2 for 2 on the first hunt of 2023-2024 season. A big typical with inlines, and an even bigger heavyyy buck with extra trash hit the dirt! It was hot, moon was full, but we got it done. It’s going to be an epic season, lots of good deer!

We don’t know much about hockey, but they say when when 1 player scores 4 goals during 1 game it’s called a “Texas Hat-Trick”…so we’ll go with that. A Texas Hat Trick, 4 giant bucks during 1 hunt. 3 of the 4 killed with a bow, and his 2 little boys were there on all the hunts!

When it’s on it’s on! Cracked the horns and rattled this buck out of brush over 300 yards away to 145 yards. He came in on a string!

One heck of a trip for some great friends here at MPR. The rut kicked off, and had the bucks on the move. We even got to rattle one of these monsters in. Plus a gorgeous stud Zebra hit the dirt that will make one beautiful rug.

Congrats to the 2022 Texas Hunt Sweepstakes winner. We have a been on a “Texas Typical” kick here lately, and this buck fits right in! When a guy wins a hunt of a lifetime in Texas, THIS is the deer his dreams are made of. You couldn’t ask for a prettier buck. Glad we could make it happen for the man from New York.

The next storm chances arrive Thursday night and continue to Saturday morning. The best chances are looking at this time to be Friday afternoon through Friday night. Some of these storms may be severe, and may also produce locally heavy rain. Precipitation will push off to the east on Saturday, leaving the rest of the weekend dry and a touch cooler. Check back for updates as more details become known over the next couple of days.
