I would like to take a moment to thank you so much for your continued support of Performance Travel. The current owner of the agency has decided to pursue another direction and has decided to close Performance Travel effective Friday, January 13th. The only reason this Friday the 13th would prove to be a bad day, is we are saying goodbye to a wond
erful place we have called home for the past 19+ years. The wonderful part of this, a new travel Agency is born. Please allow me to introduce "Aloha Travel by Performance". I know you are all probably thinking...oh great! We know how much Jen loves Hawaii......now it's all just about Hawaii. I chose this name for many reasons. I certainly love Hawaii, there is no doubt about that. It is more than that though......It's about what "Aloha" means. It has many different meanings, hello, goodbye and love. Its deeper meaning is the joyful (oha) sharing (alo) of life energy (ha) in the present (alo). It is not only the meanings of the word, but also the Spirit it evokes. "The Spirit of Aloha" is a reference to the attitude of friendly acceptance for which the Hawaiian Islands are famous for. It also refers to a powerful way to resolve any problem, accomplish any goal, and also to achieve any state of mind or body that you desire. This is what we want to bring to our clients. I would hope over the years we have made you feel like family, because you are our family. We have had the opportunity to welcome new babies, plan spring breaks, honeymoons, milestone anniversaries and share many events with you over the last 19+ years. It has been amazing to being a part of them all. You mean the world to us and we hope you will love our new and improved agency. You will see some new faces and some old ones.....meaning me, you couldn't get rid of me, even if you tried. I am very sad to say our dear Catherine decided to take this opportunity to stay home with her two sweet girls. I'm hoping she will do some outside sales for us during naptime. She has only been gone for 10 days and she is truly missed. Our new faces include the Best Outside Sales Staff in the world, Catherine Daly, Peggy Baarns, Sharon Watters, Sonia Walton, Angela Shaw, Lisa Pritt, Michelle Radcliffe, Gay Saylor. You could very well see a glimpse of them in the near future. They will be assisting me inside and out of the office. The main thing I ask is that you please be patient with us, we are doing our very best to get back with you as quickly as possible. Although we will be going through some transitions over the next 90 days or so, I want to you be assured you are in good hands and we will do our very best to make this transition is as easy as possible. All of your reservations are secure. We will receive documents just as we normally would. Final payments can be made as normal, any check forms of payment you might bring in or mail in need to be made payable to "Aloha Travel". I have reduced the hours to 9am to 530pm Monday-Friday until I can get fully staffed again and will take appointments on Saturdays. If you happen to drive by and see the building is for sale....."No Worries", no plans on changing location for now. We will cross that bridge if we come to it. I hope you will stand beside us and please be patient during this time. I will do everything possible to take care of you to the very best of my abilities. Hey all! Just wrapping up my final day in Alaska and about to board the McKinley Express from Denali to Anchorage. Since I last checked in, weāve been on the Discovery Riverboat in Fairbanks (loved it!) and an early morning tour of Denali National Park. Weāve had dinner shows and lots of wilderness!

You might have thought my Alaskan and Yukon adventure was over. Itās notā¦ just no great cell reception. After a late night into Whitehorse and an early/all day affair to Dawson City, YTā¦ we all got a much needed day of downtime to explore the city caught somewhere in the past, see Gold Dredge no 4, and enjoy that fresh Yukon air. That fresh air can make you do crazy things like a Sourtoe Cocktail!
This morning we caught a charter flight on North Air to Fairbanks (turning a 7 hr drive into a 1 hour flight). We have the day at our leisure to do excursions or explore. Tomorrowā¦ a Rivervoat ride down the Chena River and Denali National Park!

We made it to Dawson City, Yukon Territory this evening. Itās been a bit of a crazy roll with the changes. Our Hollan America Team has been super positive and kept us going with jokes, music, and information on the Yukon. They even played the wedding song for a couple who is celebrating their wedding anniversary today (it was me!!). The landscape is absolutely beautiful and has gone from a temperate rainforest in Skagway and Haines to a more arid climate. We have stepped back in time when we arrived here (a bit similar to what many feel when they arrive on Mackinac Island or travel the Upper Peninsula!). A lot of the good pics are on the fancy camera but here are a few I snapped with my phone.

Just about to leave Skagway. Our White Pass and Yukon Rail trip into Canada was cancelled due to a rockslide that happened yesterday blocking the tracks. Obviously then we take the motorcoach, right? Wrongā¦ there is rockslide that has the Southern Klondike Highway closed.
Holland America sent us off on a 3 hour round trip rail ride this morning so we could still experience some of what was on our itinerary . In the meantime, our Journey hosts rallied with their management team to coordinate how to get us to Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory when the only land access points are closed.
We are now taking the Alaska Marine Highway to Haines and then a coach up to Whitehorse.
What a great opportunity to travel the Marine Highway!

Good morning from Skagway! Today I am disembarking the Konigsdam for my 7 day land tour through the Yukon Territory and down into Denali. We will have spotty coverage many of the days as we travel the wilderness.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day in Juneau (but many of the pictures were taken by my husband on the real camera and havenāt been downloaded). We saw the Mendenhall Glacier, had a meal at Orca Point Lodge and went whale watching!

Spent yesterday cruising the inside passage, having afternoon tea with some new friends, and dinner at the Pinnacle Grillā and a few hours of training. Ready to go ashore in Juneau for some whale watching, glacier viewing, and a meal at Orca Point Lodge. Weather today is overcast with a high of 60 but Iām ready to style in my hand knit sweater.

It wasnāt easy but I made it to Vancouver to catch the Konigsdam for the 11 Day Double Denali and Yukon Cruise Tour. Canāt wait to learn what itās like to sail Holland America, upgrade to Club Orange benefits, and see it ALL.
Yes, your Aloha Team experiences and stresses travel chaos too! When it happens to you, believe meā¦ we get it! (Stateroom is a Spa Verandaā with our bags already tossed on the bedš)

When Brigette contacted us about a special trip to Italy, we were excited to help plan taking her dad to see where his father was born. We didnāt expect them to run into her co-workers at the Trevi Fountain in Rome. We really didnāt expect to read about it online.

Good news from Disney! 2024 bookings open May 31, 2023 and they are making some changes that we've all been waiting on since 2020. If you've been waiting, it's time to start thinking about Disney again!

If you're a smoker, you need to be aware of new laws in Mexico effectively banning smoking almost everywhere except designated spaces. Just walking the beach or on the sidewalk and smoking/vaping could get you fined up to $500 or 36 hours in jail. The law also bans/restricts advertising and distribution of to***co products.
A revised law that bans smoking in all public places and prohibits retailers from displaying ci******es took effect on Sunday.
