The main home of Fish Creek Compound was sited and designed to maximize views of Sheep Mountain, also known as Sleeping Indian, one of the most prominent peaks in the Gros Ventre Range on the eastern side of Jackson Hole. ​“We designed the house to get great views of the Sleeping Indian,” the architect says. ​“Everyone in architecture talks about light, and the alpenglow on the Indian to our east in the late afternoons and evenings is spectacular, and it’s impossible to grow tired of, as it is different every day.”

Shooting Star Cabin 4 centers on a vaulted great room where the living, dining, and kitchen areas flow one into the other, anchored at the end by a handsome wall of stone, where a large wood-burning fireplace is flanked by big picture windows (and whenever you’re gazing at the Tetons, the ​“big picture” seems to come right into focus). Couches and armchairs face the crackling fire and a flat-screen television is mounted in a corner. Family, fire, scenery, movie–wherever the eye comes to rest is a pleasure.

In the primary suite of Rodeo Ridge, guests can wake up in the king-size bed to watch the Tetons glow increasingly pink as the sun rises on the opposite side of the valley. Later, enjoy an evening cocktail on the private wrap-around deck overlooking the National Elk Refuge and the Gros Ventre and Teton Mountains. To give its occupants privacy, the primary suite is at the opposite end of the home as the kitchen-dining-living area.

The Cabin is a lovely 1940s log home set into a hillside on the slopes of Snow King, the original ski mountain in downtown Jackson. Green lawns and wildflowers apron The Cabin in the summertime. Towering shade trees keep it cool and tucked away in summer and in the winter, after all the leaves have fallen, the sunlight abounds.

Palatial, sumptuous, and filled with splendid works of art, Phillips Ridge begins with a two-story, light-filled entryway. Thick log walls and tree trunk supports contrast with fine antiques and soft, rich fabrics. The living and dining areas are divided by a massive two-sided stone fireplace and illuminated by a 40-foot-high wall of windows. Painter Bo Bartlett created a huge, stunning canvas in oil called ​“Goddess” – spanning an entire wall.
