For the best chance of spotting bison, moose, elk, and more, embark on a half-or full-day trip with one of the area’s experienced wildlife safari outfitters. One of the most amazing things our editor did as a visitor before moving to Jackson Hole was taking a snowmobile ride/tour through Yellowstone National Park. The park is, essentially, all yours as only snowmobiles are allowed on the roads. No cars, no crowds. Incredibly and undeniably special.

The tour is an all-day, 12-hour round-trip adventure and the early morning and early evening hours present some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities while you make your way to and from our country’s first national park. How many of you can boast that you've been on a horse-drawn sleigh ride on the National Elk Refuge? How many of you HOPE to boast about this incredible opportunity on your upcoming visit to Jackson Hole? Beginning Saturday, December 14th, through April 5th, 2025, the Double H Bar ranch will be operating sleigh rides on the National Elk Refuge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and private tours at times of your scheduling.
