The Diamond Awards, formerly know as the Duval Diamond Awards, was once dubbed the ghetto Grammy’s. It was originally established as a way to celebrate, not only the major artists in the industry from the south, but also AND mainly to put Duval on the map. It was Bigga Rankin’s way of giving Duval artists an equal playing field and to help launch their career’s into stardom. Artists that have grac

ed the stage and that have been recipients of Diamond Awards have gone on to mega stardom. The tradition continues, as Diamond Awards are always held in Duval and as always, the week leading up to the main event is the Cool Running DJS reunion, which is a celebration unlike any other. Diamond Awards “Building Legacies through Generations.” Bigga Rankin is the streets A&R, he has broken various artists and tracks. By keeping his ear to the street, Bigga has awarded some of today’s major artists, before they went on to MAJOR status.
