Rocket came out to play this weekend!
Last Friday, RCSA Middle-High's Ignite Program hosted its very first movie night fundraiser, and it was a huge success! Over 190 tickets were sold, allowing students to enjoy a screening of the movie they voted for: Coraline.
Not only did the event provide a fun evening, but it also raised enough funds to provide Ignite shirts for all our members, with additional resources set aside for future events.
We’re incredibly grateful to all the staff who contributed to making this event possible—whether by offering extra credit for attendance, promoting the event in their classrooms, helping with setup and cleanup, or chaperoning.
Your support made a real difference, and it is truly appreciated!
Recently, RCSA Middle-High proudly hosted the Ignite Peer Mentorship Camp, guided by our dedicated executive student mentors.
Throughout the camp, both executive and student mentors engaged in a series of fun, interactive activities aimed at fostering connections, boosting self-confidence, and encouraging teamwork. These activities created a strong foundation for building leadership and mentorship skills among the students.
We were also honored to welcome Ms. Kris Menon, co-founder of Ignite, who traveled from Seattle to join us and observe our students in action. Her presence added inspiration and excitement to the event.
The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing increased empowerment and a stronger commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment at RCSA. As we continue to implement the Ignite program, our primary goal remains to elevate school culture and spirit.
Let’s congratulate our mentors for their hard work and dedication, and encourage them as they step into their new roles as leaders within the student community!

🚀 River City Science Academy is thrilled to announce that our Middle-High and Mandarin campus locations have been named 2024 National Schools of Character by Character.org!
Since its inception, the National Schools of Character program has impacted over three million students, staff, parents, and community members. The schools and districts that apply must meet the rigorous standards articulated in Character.org’s 11 Principles Framework for Schools. Each school is assessed by a team of trained evaluators.
This year, only 73 schools and districts nationwide received this prestigious title, and RCSA was one of only two school systems in Florida to achieve this honor. This incredible recognition is the culmination of five years of tireless efforts by our staff, who have worked collaboratively with Character.org, as well as with our students, parents, faculty, and community members to fully integrate the Character.org framework into our school culture. Today marks a monumental milestone in our journey! 🚀

Walking through the middle school hallways, our 125 graduating Seniors were cheered on by staff and students from grades 6-8 before exiting through the front office for the last time. Congratulations, Class of 2024! 🎓✨

RCSA Rockets placed 2nd overall at State and qualified for the National Science Olympiad tournament, which will be held at Michigan State University on May 24-25, 2024!
RCSA Rocketeers placed 5th overall among 42 middle school teams.
RCSA RaTs placed 6th overall among 42 high school teams.
Mandarin
RCSA Mandarin’s Middle School Science Olympiad for earning 3 bronze medals and 14th overall at State.
RCSA Mandarin’s Elementary Science Olympiad team won first place at the First Coast Science Olympiad competition.
First Place: Roller Coaster, Codebusters, Can’t Judge a Powder, Precision Ping Pong Propulsion, Circuit Lab, and Starry Starry Night.
