appreciating that if you have to wait on bridges in SoFla at least you get to look at artwork at Pompano Beach bridge...so worth it! Would love to see more bridges do this!

enjoying the next leg of our cruise...The SoFla days with 25 bridges to open and tight anchorages are not our favorite...but being underway and anchoring makes it worth it! Not crazy about waking up to 58 degrees this AM...but to enjoy !

Help Defeat HB437 TOMORROW and Protect Our Anchorages!

As many of you know, I am passionate about preserving access to our Florida waterways and am the Marine Trawler Owners Association's chair for the Boater's Rights Advocacy Coalition Committee made up of four partner cruising associations with more than 20,000 dedicated members.

I am asking any Floridian who loves boating and their access to our waterways to oppose HB437 going to the floor of the Infrastructure Strategies Committee at 1 p.m. TOMORROW - TUESDAY 1/15.

Our coalition is proud to be working with BoatUS to oppose this piece of legislation and if you are so inclined, I ask you to visit their Advocacy Action page at https://www.votervoice.net/BOATUS/Campaigns/110334/Respond to easily submit your opposition.

Essentially Florida House Bill 437 would further eliminate access to areas of Biscayne Bay that are currently crucial to cruisers transiting the East Coast of Florida and/or jumping off to the Bahamas. Having recently been pinned in by high winds in Biscayne Bay for 11 days that should have been two, with no opportunity to move or find marina shelter due to the weather, Stick Hig and I can speak to the challenges closing anchorages would cause.

I thank you in advance for your help! And, of course, if you want me to go into MUCH further detail on the positive economic impacts of recreational boating in the state; or how we, too, oppose derelict and long-term storage and are working to help; or the bigger need to protect people's freedoms and waterway access - - just ask! appreciating being home after saying goodbye to John and Gabi's Wahine's Bight. Incredible boat and experience with friends we love! Got Louie the lobster back home to Archer Reed last night and thankful for quality time with the kiddos before we are off again. Home port is a cool 64 degrees but no shoes needed this AM....a huge change compared to the last 12 days!

celebrating 11 days underway on John and Gabi’s 40 moving her from Maine to NJ…left NY this AM and made it into final port … 332 nautical miles…56 hours…one awesome experience!

had another wonderful day. Met the owner of a great bar who gave me a wonderful art history lesson. Took a boat ride to and from . Invited ourselves to a C dock cocktail party. And chatted up crew on a 75' Marlow! # happy birthday Stick! Selene

enjoying another beautiful day in NYC. Got work done then hopped afternoon ferry to Battery Park. Another pint of Guinness then off to walking...rambled from Murray to Canal to Chinatown to Little Italy...through Lincoln Park and up to MSG...then walked back to Battery Park to cat h last ferry home just in time for a final scotch of the evening with John!

catching up on posting from the last few days...got off boat after 8 hours underway to get on another boat to take us into NYC...Mandatory pint of Guinness...best since Ireland! Then went to a Rangers hockey game at MSG...pretty amazing to make it to the city on a keel not a plane.

catching up on posting from the last few days...early morning just a girl at the helm with her navigation on four screens...entered East River...made it through Hell's Gate...turned the corner and there was Libbey! Safely ties up at with docking beers looking back at Manhattan. What an amazing experience!

catching up on posting from last few days...Got into Norwalk late afternoon...thanks to daylight savings it was dark by 4:30...walked into town and prepped for our next day underway through New York City.

anchored in after winds SSW up the gut of Buzzard's Bay made for 2-4 waves directly on bow with stacking up to 6-8 and short intervals...Selene40 handled like a champ! Beautiful anchorage for the evening and a favorable weathercast for tomorrow! to get experience...Stick and I are appreciating our Southern boating even more!

reflecting on a day that started with ice on the dock, a successful fuel up, lovely lunch with local brews, and watching the sunset while we plot tomorrow's journey....life is wonderful aboard...whether our beloved Trilogy or other's boats! Always an adventure!

grateful for our Spearin Familia! Had to come back to Tampa area for work and welcomed into our second home with Todd, Diane, and our favorite Hungarian Super Model Jazmin...also ran I to on the water...always appreciate our time together and seeing those we love!
