Signed & delivered! Royal Caribbean has officially welcomed Utopia of the Seas to its fleet today! 🥳

🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 During today’s ship delivery ceremony in France, executives from Royal Caribbean and the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard signed off on the official delivery of Utopia of the Seas, marking the transfer of ownership of the brand new cruise ship!

🏗️ After many years of designing the ship and 2 years of actual construction in France, the sixth Oasis Class ship in the Royal Caribbean is officially a fact!

🌎 Utopia of the Seas is scheduled to leave the shipyard next week to head for Ponce, Puerto Rico, where it will receive its finishing touches and welcome more crew before its first arrival in Port Canaveral, Florida!

🎉 Just 6 more weekends until Utopia of the Seas departs on its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida on July 19, 2024!

🚨IMPORTANT CARNIVAL CRUISE NOTICE 🚨

Exciting updates for guests sailing with U.S. passport cards!

Effective immediately, guests may sail on open-loop and closed-loop voyages that depart from and return to a U.S. port using a U.S. Passport Card:

• U.S. passport cards must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel.

• U.S. passport cards, with the same validity as noted above, are also accepted for cruises to Colombia if the cruise departs from and returns to a U.S. port.

• The guest should check with their government authority to confirm any documents needed for each port of call.

◦ Airline requirements may vary. Guests are responsible for checking the acceptable documents required to travel by air (if applicable).

◦ Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation, and throughout the cruise, and is the responsibility of the guest.

◦ If the proper documents are not presented, the guest will be denied boarding and no refund will be issued.

Please note, that a U.S. Passport Book (valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel) is still required for cruises that visit Greenland & Colombia (U.S. Passport Cards are not acceptable).

🚨Please just keep in mind that while the Passport cards may be accepted for open and closed-loop sailings out of the United States, guests will still need to have a passport if they have to fly internationally (either to/from their cruise or if they have to fly home from a port of call).🚨

NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE TO SAIL FROM JAXPORT BEGINNING IN 2025

The 2,394-Passenger Norwegian Gem will Offer Seasonal Cruise Service from Jacksonville, Fla., Beginning November 2025
Today, the JAXPORT Board of Directors unanimously approved a four year agreement for a three-year cruise operation with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) to provide passenger cruise service from Jacksonville, Fla., beginning in November 2025. The 2,394-guest capacity Norwegian Gem will homeport in Jacksonville, Fla. from November to April every year through 2028, offering seasonal cruises to The Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean.

When Norwegian Gem arrives at JAXPORT in November 2025, it will mark the first time NCL homeports in Jacksonville, Fla. The city is a growing drive-to cruise market, with more than 98 million consumers living within driving distance of the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal.

“Today marks a new milestone in the relationship between Norwegian Cruise Line and JAXPORT,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We look forward to Norwegian Gem’s arrival to Jacksonville in November 2025, and welcoming guests from the area, as well as neighboring cities and states, on board to deliver them an exceptional vacation. Thank you to the entire JAXPORT team for the partnership and welcoming us into your city!”

Norwegian Gem will sail immersive tropical getaways each year, offering three 12-day and two 11-day roundtrip Eastern Caribbean sailings from Jacksonville, Fla. calling to the tropical destinations of Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in the Bahamas; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas and St. John’s, U.S. Virgin Islands; Antigua; Basseterre, St. Kitts; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and more. The ship will also sail a series of four- and five-day cruises to The Bahamas, calling to Great Stirrup Cay, Freeport, and Nassau, Bahamas.
