We are getting ready for our 2024 Holiday Shutdown where we take time to wrap up any trips for 2024, prepare for the new year + the busy Wave Season plus take some time off to enjoy our family and sneak away on one last cruise adventure!!

🥇having a different bag for every type of trip

🥇overthinking things so much that nothing gets accomplished

🥇 using strong adjectives

🥇 having come to Jesus moments with suppliers when needed

🥇 packing carry on only for two weeks, fitting all the souvenirs in the carry on for the return home and NOT breaking the zipper

🥇 planning the best itineraries for my clients

I took over my Meme’s (my grandpawrent) insta account to remind everyone to check the expiration date of your Passbork.

She says most countries require you to have at least 6 months validity beyond the return date of your trip.

She also said to remind you to check and see that no puppers like me might have chewed an edge or two because it needs to be in good condition and have a least 2 blank pages available for stamps.

We’ve hit a wall. 🤣😴🥱 The jet lag has smacked us upside the head.

But we did manage to explore near our hotel and we saw the Louvre and got a peek at the Iron Lady. I’ve been to the Louvre twice before but I didn’t remember how ENORMOUS and beautiful the building is.

Finished off the afternoon with what else but a croquet monsieur and ordered my entire meal en Francais!!

Up next…Disneyland Paris!

CDG was a breeze to get the through today.

Getting to the city center…not so much.

Estimated drop off time at our hotel is 1.25 hours. Oy! Le trafiq est horibble!

Some things to note getting to Paris city center from the airport…

1️⃣ 🚖 super easy! Flat fee. €56 to the right bank. €67 to the left bank. Make sure you ONLY use the official taxis and queue so you aren’t scammed. Easy to find upon leaving CDG.

2️⃣ 🚇 while this might be an easy and fast option you will be carrying all luggage up and down stairs as escalators and elevators are rare.

3️⃣ private transfers are typically what we opt for but when taxis are easy and you only have a few people they can be expensive. Double the price of the taxi.

When we can find that taxis are easy and inexpensive to use we tell clients to use them.

I did it!

Two weeks in Europe with temps up and down and rain/winds…but everything below is in my carryons! And yes I packed a foldable duffel for the return trip. 😎🤣

Cant wait to spend some time in Paris, finally go to Disneyland and join my host agency staff, peers and industry partners on the beautiful AMAPrima next week.

Even treated myself for finishing top 140 last year to Delta One! First time!! Stoked! 🥂

January thru March of each year is what we in the travel industry call WAVE SEASON. It used to be a term that described the cruise industry giving their best and most favorable deals during that time.

While the deal timeframe has definitely changed Wave Season now means my clients ALL want to get their 2024 (and beyond) vacation on THEIR calendar!!

I had clients reach out LAST week and they've leaving Sunday because their email said "𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱!" LOL I love being that fairy godmother who can grant those wishes!!

What’s the number one place on your 2024 travel wish list?

Alaska is number one on my list of places to visit this year (it's happening, Lord willing, in May), and it’s no surprise because I love ___ and that the weather is cool (this Florida gal needs a break), the landscapes are magnanimous, the wildlife we get to see will be jaw dropping and to see glaciers up close...I can't wait!

It depends on the season and the destination in question. But if you ask me, sooner is always better than later especially during these days of the biggest travel boom we've ever experienced!

My suggestion is the sooner the better. Especially if you're wanting to book an ocean or river cruise...we are booking into 2025 and the availability is LOW already!! If you need connecting or even adjoining staterooms...we gotta talk yesterday!!
