🎨 Join us today for an enchanting evening at The David Strawn Art Gallery! The JACVB is excited to host the opening reception for Josiah Brown’s stunning acrylic paintings on canvas. Come and immerse yourself in the joyful and hopeful atmosphere his artwork brings.

Enjoy a delightful selection of hors d’oeuvres, wine, and soft drinks as we celebrate this talented Jacksonville resident. The reception takes place today, December 7, from 6 to 8 PM, with a special “Gallery Talk” by Josiah Brown at 6:30 PM. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and hear about his inspiration firsthand.

Brown’s work usually has a source of light in them which represents a feeling of hope and direction for the viewer. Brown typically creates paintings that feature a peaceful scene or a calm setting which conveys a serene place to visit in your imagination while viewing his work, making this gallery a must-visit for art lovers.

The David Strawn Art Gallery will be open for viewing from December 8 to 22. Regular hours are Sundays from 1 to 3 PM and Tuesday to Saturday from 4 to 6 PM. We can’t wait to share this beautiful experience with you—join us in celebrating artistry and community!

Bring along your family and friends for a day brimming with seasonal joy and activities designed to get everyone in the holiday spirit! Hop on a charming carriage ride provided by Robinson Farms, available from 10 AM to 2 PM. This is a great opportunity to take in the sights of downtown while enjoying a classic holiday experience.

Enjoy live music from 12 PM to 4 PM, adding to the festive ambiance. 🎶

Kids (and adults too!) can get into the holiday spirit by visiting our special Santa booth where you can write your letters to Santa and drop them in a secure box to ensure your wishes reach the North Pole in time! 🎉🎄 The Pathway Services Festival of Trees is back, bringing holiday cheer to our community! 🌟 Join them on Saturday, November 23, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, November 24, starting at 11 AM for a magical experience filled with designer trees, wreaths, and centerpieces.

Admission is just $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 13. And it’s FREE for the little ones, ages 5 and under! 🎟️

Kick off your Saturday with Breakfast with Santa from 9 AM to 11 AM for just $10, which includes a delicious breakfast, a special letter to Santa, and a picture! 🎅✨ Or come enjoy a Snack with Jack Frost from 1 PM to 3 PM for only $5, featuring cookie decorating and a fun photo opportunity!

There will be a Children’s Room packed with activities and scheduled story times. Plus, don’t miss out on unique snacks and crafts made by the people supported at Pathway, along with Terri Lynn Nuts & Candies, Historical Jacksonville. Ornaments and Bow-Wow Bits will also be available for purchase on Saturday.

On Saturday, November 23rd, be a part of the excitement at the Illinois Theater in Jacksonville for this much-anticipated red-carpet premiere. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
