• Embrace the journey, not just the destination! Slow down, savor the small moments and appreciate the journey itself. Some of the BEST 🌟 memories are made in unexpected places, so take a moment a breathe.

Should you trust hotel reviews you see online?

Here’s our take as travel advisors:
Yes, you can take reviews into consideration, but its risky to base your whole decision off the perspectives of strangers. 😮‍💨

We’ve been to hotels that had bad reviews, but they ended up being perfect for us and our travel styles.

On the flip side, we’ve been to hotels with great ratings that just didn’t quite live up to our expectations.

We have a bit of a controversial take on luxury travel.

We are pretty big believers that luxury travel isn’t always 5-star resorts and first-class tickets (although both of those are nice!)

🌟 Luxury can be as simple as having someone else plan and book all the details for your trip so there’s no stress on your shoulders.

🌟 Luxury can be an itinerary tailored perfectly to you, without you having to lift one finger.

Worried about what could go wrong with your upcoming vacation??
Pesky summer travel hiccups + what to do about them 👇🏻

➡️ Seat Swap Surprises
So, you’ve checked in online and picked your seats, but then you get to the airport and... surprise! They’ve changed.

What to Do • Head straight to the gate desk (not the ticketing counter). Gate agents are your best friends here—they can help fix the seating situation or find someone willing to switch seats.

➡️ Lost or Delayed Luggage

What to do: Find the airline’s baggage desk near the baggage claim area and file a claim before you leave the airport. If you can’t locate the desk, call the airline ASAP to report your missing luggage.

**Hang on to those receipts for any essentials you need to buy—just keep it reasonable (no designer splurges, unfortunately). Then, when you’re back, file a claim with your travel insurance. (we ALWAYS recommend protecting your travel!)**

➡️ Delayed and cancelled flights

What to do: Check the Department of Transportation (DOT) Dashboard. If the delay is within the airline’s control, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Airline Customer Service Dashboard will show you what each airline should do to make it up to you.

➡️ Not Loving Your Hotel Room
Your room not up to par? Here’s how to get it sorted

What to do: Ask for the manager. Call from your room or go to the front desk and ask to speak to a manager. Be specific about the issues and honest about what resolution you’re seeking.

➡️ Rental Car Issues

What to do: If your rental car isn’t what you expected, contact the rental company’s customer service. They might be able to upgrade or switch your vehicle. Always check the car for damage before driving off the lot and report any issues immediately.

Before you go, download maps for your destination by tapping the location, choosing "Download," and voilà! You can now navigate without the internet.

➡️ Explore with Street View: Here‘s a cool trick!
Drop the adorable yellow peg man on the map and virtually stroll through the streets. It‘s like being there already. Do this around your hotel to get familiar with nearby places.

➡️ Discover Nearby Places: This is one of our favorites!
Use the "Explore" feature to find attractions, restaurants, bars, parks, you name it, all in your vicinity. It‘s like having a local guide right in your pocket!

You know that moment when you think of the perfect thing to say but it’s too late because the moment has passed? It’s the worst.

I recently had a friend that brought up the fact that they didn’t understand why people use travel advisors because they had recently planned their own trip online.

I was so happy that I got the opportunity to speak up and point out the 20 hours this person could have saved herself by letting a travel advisor do the research and book the trip—this person is super busy with her career and kids!

What I didn’t point out is that by booking their hotel on that 3rd party travel website, they left tons of perks on the table, including late check-out and a possible room upgrade.

And if they need to make changes to their flights, they’ll likely be passed from one customer service person to another.

✅ Request early check-in so you don’t have to wait around if you’re landing before the standard 3PM check-in.

Anna Maria Island has some of the whitest, cleanest beaches, and the water is transparent - you are even able to see all of the sea life while you are in the ocean!! 🐠

St. Barth’s - a little slice of Europe in the Caribbean! Beautiful beaches. 🏝️

Negril, Jamaica - The most beautiful sunsets. 🌅

Isla Mujeres, Mexico; the island is just under 4 1/2 miles in length. The island is a very relaxed environment and the residents are so friendly. There is such a mixture of things to do from exploring the art to relaxing on the beaches and being able to eat fresh seafood, prepared with traditional recipes. 🌮
