National Farm Medicine Center &
Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association … partnership. Welcome to the Board Melissa MP Ploeckelman Brown.

Agritourism combines agriculture with tourism, offering farmers opportunities to diversify their income streams while also fostering public awareness of farming practices. To help ensure safety in agritourism operations, farmers turn to the National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety and the National Farm Medicine Center. Outreach Specialist Melissa Ploeckelman Brown promoted our centers’ resources last week at the Growing Wisconsin Conference, a three-day event in Wisconsin Dells for growers of fresh produce. Melissa focused on the Wisconsin Agritourism track. She led discussions on safety practices and risk mitigation strategies for those involved in agritourism, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe environment for both workers and visitors. In recognition of her contributions, Melissa was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for hosting two roundtable discussions on using the https://safeagritourism.org site. These sessions provided valuable insights for attendees, encouraging the development of safety standards in agritourism that protect both the public and agricultural workers.

Registration is now open for Mulberry Lane Farm, Summer -Farm Camp!

We are SO excited to announce our first-ever summer camp at Mulberry Lane Farm.

If you know a child ages 5 - 10 they need to be in the 4 1/2 day camp. Head over to our website for registration information. Space is limited!

NOTE: After the July camps reach full capacity, we will open registrations for the June camps. Those who missed out on the July camp will be given the first opportunity to secure a spot in June. The website will be updated on Monday during office hours.
