A herd of about 450 elk roam the Buffalo River corridor. Because of this, Newton County is known as the Elk Capital of Arkansas. HARRISON WATER TANK FILLING STATION OPEN
With several of our neighboring water utilities running out of water due to the service disruption at Ozark Mountain Regional Public Water, the City of Harrison is going to open up our water tank filling station located at 303 Watergate Road (near the Boone County Fairgrounds). The water tank filling station will be open today (Saturday Oct. 26th) from 1PM until 5PM. If necessary we will also open up tomorrow (Sunday Oct. 27th) from 1PM until 5PM so that folks can fill water tanks. Please share this info with people impacted by the water outages, especially area farmers who need water for their animals. We will track the amount of water that people get but we will not be charging for the water.
