Grand Isle has a brand-new 960-foot public fishing pier! Conveniently located on Cheniere Caminada, just before entering the island.

This addition joins the 990-foot Grand Isle Fishing Pier next to Bridge Side Marina, which opened in summer 2023. Both piers are free and open to the public, providing endless opportunities for anglers and nature lovers alike.

Bucktown Harbor is looking good!

The Paddler's Cove Kayak Launch & Living Shoreline/Blueway are just about ready to open to the public.

These new features are the finishing touches to a project aimed at making Bucktown an extended back yard for locals, and a welcoming eco-tourism destination for all.

Along with the new water access, visitors can enjoy the Birdsnest Learning Pavilion or walk along the Bucktown Harbor boardwalk & marsh which offers views of the lake and local wildlife.

Watch Historical Gretna glow at dusk as the Huey Holiday Lights Display illuminates Huey P. Long Avenue from 10th Street to the river.

𝘎𝘙𝘌𝘛𝘕𝘈: Catch Santa parading down Huey P. Long Avenue from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM, followed by a tree lighting, festive treats, and refreshments at the German American Cultural Center.

Exciting updates are coming to NOLA Motorsports Park on the Westbank!

Enjoy a new 18-hole mini golf course (coming in January 2025), a full arcade with a bar, and a renovated kitchen offering a specialty menu and gourmet coffee.

An outdoor lawn area is also in the works, with a kids’ playground, a stage for local bands, big screen TVs, perfect for sports viewing, & free Wi-Fi, making it a great spot to work or unwind.

While construction is underway, the track is still open for a fun challenge!

Christmas is back at Lafreniere Park beginning December 1st!

With over 10 million LED lights, this holiday tradition transforms the park into a magical wonderland. At dusk, the lights come on as you drive through the light displays.

Kids can also explore Santa’s Express Mail Center, where they write letters to Santa & mail them at the Elf Post Office! There is also a FREE interactive walking area with additional displays & a pavilion that is home to live performances. The carousel is also open nightly.

The historic Schoolhouse in Downtown Gretna has been transformed after 50+ years of vacancy!

Thanks to a public-private partnership with Jefferson Parish, Jefferson Facilities Inc., & Formwork Development, it’s now turning into a modern building with co-working space, event space, the new home of the German American Cultural Museum, and a local market.
