We had a visitor to the park this morning. It was camped out on the east side of the park close to Black Cypress Bayou. In the six years we’ve been here, it’s the first time we have spotted one of these beauties.

Looking for the🐾 purrfect 🐾Christmas photo opp for you and your four legged, scaled, feathered friend?

Lonesome Dove Drive Thru Safari and Sanctuary has just the spot for you. We are offering our adorable Christmas setup at no charge to you and your animal baby for a small donation (whatever you feel called to do). You may donate directly to the park and all of the animals we take in here (numerous species of parrots just this summer) or you may direct your donation to our partner Friends of Jefferson Animals who help hundreds of misplaced, abandoned and neglected animals in the county.

So what are you waiting for? Bring that baby of yours (leashes required and crates for the baby if of another species) to our gift shop over the next week and take a photo with our big reindeer and flocked Christmas tree. By doing so, your donations will go to help countless animals make their way onto our rescue partners up north or out to our park to a new home full of love and care.

While here, enjoy all the park has to offer: Drive thru, petting and walk thru zoo, train, and numerous species in the gift shop. So don’t forget those leashes and come on out!

Open 7 days a week till Christmas -weather permitting-10:30-4:30 (last car in).

Santa had a great first visit to the park and HE WILL BE BACK SUNDAY FROM
10:30-5:30 this Sunday. 3 pics with edits for $40 and 6 pics with 6 edits for $60.

Bring the family, bring the kids OR even bring your animal friends as long as they’re contained or on a leash.

We also have the BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL OF 25% off gift certificates of any denomination now through Sunday. So give a gift they can enjoy any time of the year. We also have season passes available. Please DM the page or comment below with any questions.

Santa is here!!!

Come on out to Lonesome Dove, drive-through Safari and sanctuary today until seven to have your professional photographs taken with Santa. As seen in the photo, you may bring your feathered friend or your furry friend as long as they’re in a crate or on a leash.

The drive-through is open from 1030 until the last car in at 4:30. Gates closed at 5:30.

Santa and his helper will be back on Sunday from 10:30 to 4:30 as well.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our dear friends and patrons.

We hope your Thanksgiving is a restful, peaceful and delicious one!

Don’t forget, Santa will be out at the park tomorrow from noon until seven taking adorable professional Christmas photos. There is no need for park admission for photos. Should you simply want to take Santa pictures, you may do so, but we certainly would love to have you as a guest at the park as well. Should you want to do the petting zoo as
well as Santa, which will be set up in the new party barn, that can be made available as well.

We hope and pray that everyone has a safe and restful Thanksgiving. We certainly look forward to seeing you throughout the holidays. Gates open tomorrow at 10:30 AM. Santa photos start at noon and we will go until 7 PM with Santa photos. Santa will be back on Sunday from 10:30 AM until 5:30 PM. We certainly look forward to seeing you there.

🦃YES-we will be open each day this coming week (10:30-4:30 last car in) with the exception of Thanksgiving Day. We will be closed that day to pause and give thanks for our many blessings. 🍁🦃🍁

And look who is dropping in on BLACK FRIDAY from noon to seven and then again 12/1 from 10:30-5!!! You guessed it! Good ole’ Santa Clause himself will be back for photos at the park. This year they’ll be in our new party barn in the petting zoo. If you choose to only come for pictures, we ask that you still check in inside of the gift shop so we may direct you to the proper location.
Time slots are available to pre book or you may come at your convenience. Again, those dates with Santa at the park will be 11/29 from 12 noon until 7 o’clock to help accommodate the early and late shoppers and 12/1 from 10:30-5pm. Don’t miss out. These one of a kind Christmas pics will be too cute to pass up. Santa will have a reindeer on hand this year in addition to his Christmas Tree and maybe even a farm animal or two! In case you were stuck at home, work or just couldn’t make it out on the actual Veteran’s Day, we would like to say thank you this weekend to all of our military veterans.

Come out and see us this weekend for FREE. That’s right, all military veterans get in free this Saturday and Sunday as our way of saying thank you for your service. We hope someone is able to bring you to the park and make lasting memories with you feeding animals, encountering new species and just simply enjoying what is left of Fall.

Also, be on the lookout for Santa pic announcements this weekend with dates and details (bring your animal from home to take pics with Santa 🐶🐱!). We will also have an exciting Black Friday announcement. So stay tuned!!!

Getting to be close and personal with some of Gods most amazing creations never gets old. These are just a few shots from omaround the park this week. We would like to remind you that animals are a lot like us humans. They are up and moving early looking for food. During the hottest points of the day (include that heat index because it can be ten degrees hotter) they enjoy the shade in the shaded routes, and they may even rest to conserve energy, just look we would do in the extreme temps. Whether you’re feeding them next to the car or enjoying them in their natural element, it is all magical. Don’t forget that we have over 50+ amazing creatures in the gift shop as well! Sweet Sidney

Don’t mind me. I’m just scratching my new best friend. Looking for something fun to do this weekend, come on out to Lonesome Dove Drive Thru Safari and Sanctuary to meet Sidney the baby kangaroo. She’ll be hanging out in the gift shop this weekend along with dozens of other species. So load up your friends and family and come on out for a visit. Two of our recent rescues, Coco and Bella, the Blue Front Amazon Parrots. These two are full of personality and can get quite loud and animated at times . Their previous owner passed away and they found themselves living in a shelter which is no place for a bird. We happily stepped up to give them a forever home and larger, more comfortable space to coexist. These beauties are in their 30’s but with proper care, they can live well past their 60’s and even into their 90’s. If you’re in the gift shop, make sure to speak to them. They love the interaction.
