As a Dental Hygienist with Jenison Family Dentistry, you will play a vital role in helping us continue to build lasting patient relationships while delivering quality comfortable care.
The hygienist we are searching for will be patient focused and enjoy helping patients understand how vital their appointments with us are.
We schedule appointment times that ensure our hygienists have time to build relationships with our family of patients.
The hygienist we hope to find will be professional; patient oriented and have excellent communication skills with the following experiences:
• Ability to administer local anesthesia
• Take digital x-rays
• Use an intra-oral camera
• Educate patient on oral hygiene/health/disease as well as procedures and services; establish/communicate continued care
• Complete periodontal charting
• Follow periodontal treatment guidelines
• Screen for Oral Cancer
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Dentrix dental software skills a plus
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment

Welcome our new Doctor, Thomas Pare, back to Grand Rapids! He is thrilled to join the team at Jenison Family Dentistry! He practiced dentistry in South Carolina for 12 years prior to moving back to Michigan.

Dr. Pare received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at College of Charleston and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. He has extensive continuing education in cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, and conscious sedation.

In his spare time, Dr. Pare likes to read, travel, play chess, and spend time with his family- wife Nicole, daughter Alice, and bulldog Louie.

Skills/ Abilities:
Dental assisting (1 year) preferred.

- Competitive pay based on experience!

- Assist the doctor with dental procedures and maintain excellent patient care, integrity, and flow.

-Review patient charts prior to doctor arrival, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and procedure.

-Ability to take high quality radiographs / intra-oral photos

- Clean, sterilize and prepare the equipment and operatory, prior to and after a patient’s appointment.

-Track the incoming and outgoing lab cases, monitor and order dental supplies.

-Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance, follow safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens)

-Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment.

- Assist in educating the patients and address their questions and/or concerns to help them feel more comfortable.

-Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs. We use Dentrix.
