Joplin Arts Fest will be here before you know it! If you are an artist and interested in taking part, sign up now!

We believe art is for everyone and so is Joplin Arts Fest! Our 10th Anniversary festival is going to be bigger and better than ever, with artists of all stripes gathering on the Leggett & Platt Green at the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex, along with amazing live performances from the stage, make & take art, fabulous food & beverage options, and some fun surprises! Join us on September 20 & 21 for a weekend to remember!

Time is running out if you are an artist looking to jury into the show this year--you have until June 21 to get those applications in!

A big thank you to the local restaurant who kept our artists fed during their three-day tour-de-force painting marathon!

We would like to thank Simple Simon's Pizza, Hungry Monkey, Texas Roadhouse, and 530 Somewhere.

All three works of art will be revealed tonight, and you can come check them out Saturday from 11 to 2 at the Cornell Complex on 7th Street.

Artists unleashed!
While taking a break from painting, 3D artists Naomi Haverland, Chris Carlson, and Nate Baranowski took a gallery tour at the .
Be like Naomi, Chris, and Nate! Don't miss out on this all-ages interactive experience! There are multiple hands-on projects, imaginative photo spaces, and collaborative community builds.
Visitors are encouraged to unleash their inner artist and be inspired.
While you are there, stop by and say hi to the artists. They will be painting their 3D interactive artworks outside the building Wednesday through Friday.

Say hi to our newest friends, Isabella and Stephanie, from Copenhagen, Denmark! They visited Joplin this morning to have their Route 66 Passports stamped! They are making their way from Chicago all the way to Flagstaff, Arizona, before heading northwest to San Franciso.
They describe Joplin as "great and really friendly 😄!!!"
Make sure to wave and say hi if you see them along the Mother Road!

Dane and Gail Owens (on the right) stopped by Joplin City Hall today with their friends from Melbourne, Florida. They are taking a 21-day trip across the United States in their RV and will spend the next three days in Joplin.
For Dane, this is a bit of a homecoming. He is an engineer who was in Joplin after the 2011 tornado. He spent weeks living here and helping to clean up the city.
We want to thank Dane for everything he did back and also thank him for bringing his friends and family to town so they could experience all Joplin has to offer!

Visitors can also view a fantastic Christmas blow mold display.

Victorian Antique Tinsel Ornaments display, now at the museum!

Modern tinsel was invented in Nuremberg, Germany in 1610 and was originally made of shredded silver. Ornaments in this collection were made in the early 1900's and are made with paper and tinsel. A few have been replicated to resemble ornaments of the same time period.
