NCCC update! This amazing crew has been busy with crucial fire abatement projects as well as adding some wonder to camp program spaces and trails. The sunrise trail, which was taken back by nature during the pandemic, is open and ready for your feet. The trail from cow pond to lower meadow is also ready for action, all thanks to Red 5.

This Giving Tuesday - which we are calling Connection Tuesday - we are rallying support to BOOST and EXPAND Camp’s internet access for our guests, staff, and operations. Internet at camp has a limited reach to just a small part of the property, leaving many of the guest spaces and our staff housing disconnected.

Awww. We had a lovely weekend with everyone who attended our Gratitude family camp. We said see ya later to fall and hello to winter with a collective of family traditions coming from guests and staff. Lots of openness, wonder, connection, and gratitude felt all weekend.

Please join us in welcoming our AmeriCorps NCCC team, Red 5! This group of service learners from across the country are supporting Camp Stevens with a variety of projects from fire abatement, improving accessibility around camp, creating a garden playground, and building enrichment activities for our goats from start to finish. They will also be supporting the local Julian community by partnering with and . We are enjoying their presence in our community and are proud to partner with this awesome group of folks.

First frost, last harvest! Gardener Emkat is working hard to get our tomatoes covered up and extend our tomato season a little longer but has pulled a selection of the best green tomatoes just in case!

It was a whirlwind weekend representing Camp Stevens at the The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego and Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles conventions. A true highlight was listening to the Rev. Dr. Carter Heyward, one of the first women ordained in the Episcopal Church, speak about liberation, hope, anger, and love. Both our diocese are doing incredible work to stand for justice and build common ground. Big thanks to all the chaplains, board members, staff and alumni who worked our booths, connected with us, supported us and built community. We are in this together.
