Opening day update:
June Lake and Grant Lake are ice free.
Silver Lake is maybe 90% iced over
Gull Lake is covered in ice, but the ice is "changing colors" .
Crowley Lake is ice free.
Will update early next week.

The latest on our road conditions.

ICYMI: U.S. 395 is open throughout Mono County with Chain Control Restrictions in place. State Route 158 S has a detour at North Shore Drive that gives access to the town of June Lake and nearby recreation.

Check Quickmap.dot.ca.gov or roads.dot.ca.gov to get the latest information on highway conditions.

FYI. Be prepared, stay safe!

ATTN DRIVERS: U.S. 395 has reopened to traffic without escorts between Gorge Road and State Route 203/Mammoth Lakes. The highway remains closed from SR 203 to Bridgeport. U.S. 6 remains open with chain controls from Bishop to the Nevada State Line.

FYI. Be safe out there!!!!

Sunday will see the biggest storm of the winter hit Eastern Kern, Inyo, and Mono counties. Pack snow chains and other winter essentials if you have to drive. If you're heading to the mountains to recreate, leave before the storm is scheduled to arrive. And be sure to check current highway conditions before you go on the app on your iOS or Android device or at QuickMap.dot.ca.gov.

If you don't have to drive, consider staying home until the atmospheric river flows through.
