Today on - Medial Moraines! As glaciers flow down mountain valleys, they pick up debris from both sides and push them inwards, forming large lines down their centers. These amazing lines of sediment and boulders often look like large roads running up the center of the glacier, and are a sign of the beauty and power of nature.

‼️BIG NEWS‼️ Since the end of our 2023 season, NorthStar has been working on something huge! After 25 years in our current tour center, we are excited to announce that we are building a brand new tour center for summer 2024! We plan to operate trekking tours out of our new building this summer. We are excited for this big change, and can’t wait to share it with our guests. Stay tuned for more tour center updates as we get closer to the season!

It's ! Did you know that features on the glacier are constantly changing and evolving? Often times our guides will find breathtaking features, like the one shown in the picture, but these can disappear throughout the summer as temperatures warm up. Luckily, our guides are always discovering new routes and amazing places for photo opportunities during our tours.
